Activities

No matter which season you choose to visit us there will be plenty of indoor and outdoor activities.

La praz is part of the Jura Regional Park a 530 km2 natural reserve featuring solitary forests, mystical marshland, jagged limestone rocks and glades as well as pastureland surrounded by stonewalls. With its well-marked 523 km network of trails, the park is especially attractive for hikers, bikers and mountain bikers. There are also plenty of pools around and great opportunities for boating on the Lac de Joux.

In winter, bikes and hikes are exchanged for cross-country skis, downhill skis, snowshoes or sleds. The Vallée de Joux offers one of the biggest cross-country skiing domains in Central Europe: 220 km of skiing tracks lay at your feet. The closest access is the Mollendruz, a 10 min drive. And what is more fun than to iceskate on a 22km long lake: the Lac de Joux. The lake freezes over in winter to become the largest natural ice rink in Europe.

The area has also plenty to offer in terms of cultural visits with the Clunesian village of Romainmôtier featuring the oldest abbey in Switzerland and plenty of castles in the surrounding villages like L’Isle and La Sarraz and the cities of Lausanne and Geneva.

Below is just a small sample of the many possibilities to spend your days at La Ferme de la Praz:
